Terri Bell is a cornerstone of the Melgund Township creative scene, bringing a unique dual perspective to this year’s exhibition. A longtime crafter and veteran arts administrator, Terri has spent decades both creating art and championing the local artists who define our region. Her featured works at the Dyment Recreation Hall reflect this lifetime of technical mastery, blending traditional techniques with a quiet, profound understanding of the importance of community heritage.
Spring Exhibition to launch on April 17, 2026
MELGUND TOWNSHIP, ON — The heart of Northwestern Ontario beats anew this spring as the 2026 Melgund Township Arts Exhibition officially launches on April 17 at the Dyment Recreation Hall. This month-long event kicks off with an immersive showcase of local and regional talent, bridging the gap between traditional heritage and futuristic innovation through curated selections ranging from visual arts, film, and photography, to crafts and virtual reality.
Featured in this year’s exhibition is the work of local crafter Terri Bell. A long-time crafter and arts administrator in the community, Bell’s inclusion highlights the deep-rooted artistry that defines the township. Her featured pieces will be part of this year’s exhibition that celebrates both the legacy of local creators and the evolving arts scene in our area. Her work has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse and Ontario Arts Council Multi and Inter-Arts Projects programs.
Running through May 17, the exhibition invites art enthusiasts and community members to experience a multi-sensory journey at the Dyment Recreation Hall. The spring launch marks the first exhibition for the community’s new arts and heritage space.
“It’s exciting to be part of this year’s spring exhibition,” said Bell. “We’re really looking forward to activating this new space and celebrating our local and regional arts scene.”
The month-long exhibition will also see open mic sessions and music jams, guest speakers and artists, participatory and arts-based community dialogues on subjects ranging from climate change, to virtual reality and the potential impacts of nuclear waste management programs.
