A familiar face at music events across Melgund Township and the surrounding region, Tanya brings her creative energy from the stage into the gallery—sharing a vibrant selection of recent work for audiences to experience and enjoy.

As part of the 2026 Spring Arts Exhibition in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario, Inuit artist and filmmaker Eva Suluk presents an eight-part series showcasing the deep connection between people and caribou. Through traditional land-based practices—including harvesting, butchering, and cooking—her work celebrates intergenerational knowledge transfer and the continuity of Inuit skills, culture, and ways of life. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to experience Indigenous arts and northern traditions in Northwestern Ontario.

Northern Artist Leanne Nicholson is featured in the 2026 Spring Art Exhibition, a Multi and Inter-Arts showcase in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario, and Winnipeg, Manitoba presented through our Northern Arts Program. Led by Arts Incubator Winnipeg, Art Borups Corners, and Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture, the exhibition celebrates visual art, multi-disciplinary practices, performance, and participatory projects, with an emphasis on Indigenous arts, land-based knowledge, and northern storytelling. The event connects rural and urban northern communities, highlighting innovation, creative exchange, and the diversity of northern arts practices.

Terri Bell is a cornerstone of the Melgund Township creative scene, bringing a unique dual perspective to this year’s exhibition. A longtime crafter and veteran arts administrator, Terri has spent decades both creating art and championing the local artists who define our region. Her featured works at the Dyment Recreation Hall reflect this lifetime of technical mastery, blending traditional techniques with a quiet, profound understanding of the importance of community heritage.
