Terri Bell’s crafts join 2026 Spring Art Show and Community Exhibition
MELGUND TOWNSHIP, ON — A new season of creativity arrives in Northwestern Ontario as the 2026 Melgund Township Arts Exhibition opens April 17 at the Dyment Recreation Hall. Running through May 17, the month-long exhibition transforms the space into a vibrant hub of artistic expression, bringing together visual arts, film, photography, crafts, and emerging digital media including virtual reality.
This year’s exhibition features local crafter Terri Bell, whose work reflects the depth and continuity of artistic practice in the region. A dedicated arts administrator and longtime contributor to the community, Bell’s inclusion underscores the exhibition’s focus on both legacy and evolution. Her work has been supported through programs such as the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse and the Ontario Arts Council’s Multi and Inter-Arts Projects.
Marking the inaugural exhibition in the community’s newly developed arts and heritage space, the event invites visitors into a multi-sensory experience grounded in place and shaped by innovation.
“It’s exciting to be part of this year’s spring exhibition,” said Bell. “We’re looking forward to bringing people together and activating this space in a meaningful way.”
In addition to the exhibition, programming throughout the month will include open mic sessions, music jams, guest artists, and community conversations exploring themes such as climate change, emerging technologies, and the long-term impacts of nuclear waste management.
