Call for Artists: Spring 2026 Exhibition

Spring 2026 Arts Exhibition - Call for Artists - Events - Northwestern Ontario

Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture invites artists to submit work for its upcoming spring 2026 exhibition. This exhibition aims to showcase diverse perspectives and innovative approaches across various mediums.

Eligibility
Open to local and regional emerging and established artists in Northwestern Ontario working in all visual art forms, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital art, and installation.

Submission Guidelines

  • Up to five works may be submitted per artist.
  • Include high-resolution images (JPEG or PNG, minimum 1500px on the longest side).
  • Provide an artist statement (max 400 words) and a short bio (max 300 words).
  • Include artwork details: title, medium, dimensions, and year of completion.
  • Optional: link to portfolio or website.

How to Submit
Email submissions to info@artsincubator.ca with the subject line “Exhibition Submission – [Artist Name].” All materials must be received by March 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Selection Process
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of curators and art professionals. Selected artists will be notified by March 10, 2026.

Exhibition Details
Selected works will be displayed at the Dyment Recreation Hall from April X, 2026 to May X, 2026. An opening reception will be held. Promotional materials and press coverage will highlight participating artists.

  • Submission Deadline: March 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 9, 2026
  • Artwork Delivery: April 10, 2026
  • Exhibition Opening: April 19, 2026
  • Exhibition Closing: May 17, 2026
  • Artwork Pickup/Return: May 25, 2026

On April 22, 2026, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) will host a public Open House on the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada’s Used Nuclear Fuel Project. Taking place from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dyment Recreation Hall, the session will include a short presentation followed by a drop-in open house where residents can explore materials, ask questions, and speak directly with IAAC staff about the federal impact assessment process in an accessible, community-focused setting.
