Thanks to generous volunteers, the monthly breakfast continues strengthening Melgund through food, connection, and shared gratitude.

This month’s community breakfast at the Dyment Recreation Hall once again brought neighbours together for a morning rooted in warmth and welcome. Long before the first plates were served, the kitchen was busy and the coffee was brewing. By the time guests began arriving, the hall was filled with conversation, laughter, and the comforting smell of a classic breakfast.

From crispy hash browns and sizzling bacon to stacks of pancakes and all the extras, there was something for everyone to enjoy. More than just a meal, the breakfast offered a space for people to sit a little longer, catch up with friends, and meet someone new. Tables quickly turned into hubs of storytelling and shared updates, reminding everyone how powerful a simple gathering can be.

The event was made possible through the continued support of the Local Services Board of Melgund and the community recreation committee. A special thank you goes to Karen and Sara for preparing such a generous and delicious meal. Their hard work behind the scenes helps create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

As part of an ongoing recreation program, the monthly breakfast continues to strengthen community connection through food and belonging. Each gathering builds on the last, creating traditions that residents can look forward to and participate in. In a world that often moves too quickly, mornings like this offer a steady reminder that community is nurtured one shared table at a time.
