Enjoy Live Music All Afternoon at the Melgund Township Canada Day Festival

There’s nothing quite like live music to bring a community together, and this year’s Canada Day Festival in Melgund Township promises an afternoon filled with great entertainment. Join us at the Dyment Recreation Hall and Park on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and enjoy live performances from Walter and Friends, along with Gerry and Tanya McArthur, as local musicians provide the soundtrack to one of Northwestern Ontario’s favourite rural Canada Day celebrations.

Bring a lawn chair, spend time with family and friends, and relax while enjoying a mix of familiar songs and community spirit. Between performances, browse the Canada Day Festival Silent Auction, try your luck with the door prizes, or stop by the Cookshack for burgers, hot dogs, smokies, refreshments, and other festival favourites. Don’t forget to visit the kids’ lemonade stand while you’re there.

There will also be artists and vendors set up in the hall. Come out and support local artists and community!

Whether you’re a longtime resident, a seasonal visitor, or simply exploring Northwestern Ontario over the holiday, the Canada Day Festival offers a welcoming afternoon of live music, good food, and community celebration. Come celebrate Canada Day with us and enjoy the kind of small-town hospitality that keeps people coming back year after year.
