Melgund Recreation

Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture is a community hub celebrating creativity, connection, and well-being in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario. We offer programs in arts, culture, and recreation that engage residents of all ages—fostering community participation, skill-building, and storytelling. From family-friendly events and workshops to audiobooks, exhibits, and cultural programs, we aim to nurture imagination, preserve local heritage, and inspire meaningful experiences that bring people together. At Melgund, creativity meets community, and everyone is welcome to explore, create, and share.

The Climate and Creative Entrepreneurship Program in Melgund Township is an arts-based and participatory research initiative grounded in community arts and recreation programming across Northwestern Ontario. Serving the communities of Dyment and Borups Corners, the program brings together residents of all ages to explore climate awareness, creative entrepreneurship, and local sustainability through hands-on, collaborative learning. By integrating arts-based research methods with community engagement, it supports rural innovation while strengthening cultural and environmental understanding.

A longtime crafter and veteran arts administrator, Terri has spent decades both creating art and championing the local artists who define our region. Her featured works at the Dyment Recreation Hall reflect this lifetime of technical mastery, blending traditional techniques with a quiet, profound understanding of the importance of community heritage.
