Melgund Recreation

Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture is a community hub celebrating creativity, connection, and well-being in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario. We offer programs in arts, culture, and recreation that engage residents of all ages—fostering community participation, skill-building, and storytelling. From family-friendly events and workshops to audiobooks, exhibits, and cultural programs, we aim to nurture imagination, preserve local heritage, and inspire meaningful experiences that bring people together. At Melgund, creativity meets community, and everyone is welcome to explore, create, and share.
These resilient seedlings, nurtured at the Art Borups Corners Land Lab, are prepared for their spring transplant. Their local lineage ensures they will thrive as a permanent, edible addition to the Dyment Recreation Complex.

Based in Melgund Township, the Climate and Creative Entrepreneurship Program is a community-driven arts-based and participatory research initiative focused on food security, climate adaptation, and creative entrepreneurship in Northwestern Ontario. Operating in Dyment and Borups Corners, it brings together intergenerational participants to explore northern food systems innovation, sustainable food practices, and community-led economic development through arts-based recreation and collaborative learning.
