Critical upgrades bring clean water infrastructure and expanded growing opportunities
Excitement is growing in the community as major upgrades take shape at the Dyment Recreation Park. Since July, steady progress has been made on essential site preparations to expand the community garden program and revamp key amenities, paving the way for a vibrant and productive upcoming growing season.
A significant portion of the work involves heavy earthmoving to prep the expanded garden grounds, ensuring rich, accessible plots for local gardeners next year. Parallel to the site development, major infrastructure additions have been successfully installed. Brand-new water lines are now in place, accompanied by modern water treatment equipment specifically serving the community Cook Shack and main hall, ensuring clean and reliable facilities for local gatherings and events.
This transformative project was made possible through crucial support and funding. Sincere gratitude goes out to the Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant program, Art Borups Corners, the Local Services Board of Melgund, and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. Thanks to their generosity and investment in local community infrastructure, residents can look forward to a revitalized park and a flourishing garden space for years to come.
