Northwestern Ontario Community Volunteers Raise Event Tents at Dyment Park for Summer Season

Summer events at Dyment Park don’t happen on their own, and this past weekend the community once again proved what can be accomplished when people come together.

On Saturday morning, volunteers gathered to raise the event tents that will provide shelter and gathering space for the many activities, celebrations, and community events planned throughout the summer season. What could have been a challenging task became an enjoyable day filled with teamwork, cooperation, and community spirit.

Residents, volunteers, members of the Local Services Board of Melgund Recreation Committee, and supporters from across the area worked side by side to safely assemble the tents. With plenty of helping hands, the work moved quickly and efficiently, demonstrating the strength of community collaboration.

The day was about more than just putting up tents. It was an opportunity for neighbours to connect, share stories, and spend time together while helping prepare Dyment Park for another busy summer. Laughter, conversation, and a shared sense of purpose made the project both productive and enjoyable.

After the work was completed, everyone gathered to enjoy a terrific barbecue featuring burgers, hot dogs, refreshments, and good company. It was a well-deserved celebration of a job well done and a reminder that community projects are often at their best when they bring people together.

A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who volunteered their time, effort, and energy to make the tent raising a success. Your dedication helps create the welcoming spaces that make summer events at Dyment Park possible, and your support continues to strengthen our community.

We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy the tents and the many events they will host throughout the summer season.

The next big event will be the highly popular Canada Day Festival on July 1st, with artists, vendors, live music and great food. Come out and join the fun in Melgund Township!
