Parks Day: Everyone Outdoors Together

Art Borups Corners is hosting a community BBQ and participatory park visioning event at the Dyment Recreation Hall in Borups Corners as part of Everyone Outdoors Together, a national initiative led by the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) for Parks Day, July 18, 2026.
Everyone Outdoors Together encourages people across Canada to spend time outdoors on the same day, connecting with their local parks, greenspaces, and communities while participating in a shared national celebration of recreation, nature, and community life. In Borups Corners, that national initiative takes shape through a local gathering at the Dyment Recreation Hall and surrounding greenspace.
The evening is built around a community BBQ, creating an opportunity for neighbours, families, and visitors to gather, share a meal, enjoy music, and spend time together outdoors in a welcoming and informal atmosphere. The pavilion and greenspace become a shared community hub where food, conversation, and activity unfold throughout the evening.
In addition to the BBQ, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on creative activities, including drawing, mapping, and storytelling. These activities will help build a collective understanding of how local parks and greenspaces are used today, while exploring ideas for how they can become more useful, inclusive, and engaging public spaces in the future through community-driven input and shared imagination.
