Attendance

Present were: Pat Daignault, Sean Merritt, Norm Eady, Jason Holroyd, Karen Daignault, Terri Bell, Jamie Bell, and Maurice Betournay.

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson Pat Daignault.

Approval of Previous Minutes

As the meeting minutes are posted on the community message boards and emailed to the mailing list in advance, the Board has decided that minutes will no longer be read aloud at meetings. Any corrections will be addressed if needed, followed by a motion to accept. Minutes and financial statements will continue to be available at meetings.

Residents who are not on the email list are encouraged to contact the Board at melgundlsb@gmail.com to be added. Please include a phone number when signing up.

There were no errors or omissions noted.
Motion: Moved by Pat, seconded by Norm, that the minutes be accepted as presented.
Carried.

Correspondence

Chantelle (NWMO) provided a follow-up to their recent presentation. This information was emailed to residents.

Business Arising from the Minutes

The new BBQ has been picked up.
Deck and Window Replacement: No update has been received from the contractor. Sean will follow up again.
Insurance – Monitoring Devices: Norm reported that Shannon at Standard/Brokerlink confirmed monitoring devices are acceptable, provided they are externally monitored.
A copy of the insurance for the snow plow tender is still required. Karen will drop this off.
Community Message Boards: Message boards are for LSB postings only. Requests to post must be made to a Board member and approved, space permitting. Sean will be redoing the boards and adding locks.
Accounting Services: Willie Winter (Winter’s & Co.) advised there are two accounting options this year: a full audit or a Review Engagement. As NSB changes were made in August, prior to the fiscal year-end of September 30, 2025, the Board has decided to proceed with a full audit for the 2024–2025 year.

Community Events

Hall Decorating: Residents are invited to decorate the hall and indoor/outdoor trees on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at noon. Everyone is welcome. Chili and buns will be served at noon.
Christmas Supper:
- Date: Saturday, December 20, 2025
- Time: 5:00 p.m.
- Supper, games, and garage sale Christmas gifts

Supper Contributions:

Turkeys, stuffing, and gravy – Karen
Ham – TBD
Potatoes (15 lbs) – Jason
Vegetables – Prepared at the hall
Buns (3 dozen) and butter – Sean
Salad – Karen
Pickles – Sean
Desserts – Terri

Terri will pick up the turkeys, stuffing, and Chinette plates (provided by the hall).

Recreation

The most recent Games Night was very successful and well attended.

Next Games Night: Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m.

Financial Matters

The $500.00 NWMO donation for the BBQ has been transferred from the NWMO bank account to the regular LSB account.

New Business

Budget Meeting: Held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Line items were reviewed and values set.
By-Law 09-2025: Following discussion, the by-law to accept the budget as presented was read.
